Winchester 1873 1st. First Model Thumb Print Dust Cover

You are looking at a very hard to get USA Quality made Winchester Model 1873 Dust Cover.  I sold several of these around 8 years ago.  I have had numerous requests from previous buyers to make more of them.  I finally got at it with the help from a fellow Collector/Machinist friend here in Michigan.  A lot of the covers I previously sold were in the white.  Most Gunsmiths/Collectors like to finish the cover to match their 73 appearance.  If you are going to bid, you are bidding on one cover only.   The cover listed is polished to 320 grit and Blued.  It is the proper thickness and length.  It isn't thin and loose like some of the other reproductions that are out there.  I use 3 original 1873 First Model frames to try each cover in for a proper fit.  As you know, the rails on the first model get dinged and damaged so the cover won't slide freely in the frame. ( Believe it or not that is why there are a lot of First Models out there without their original covers.)  You might need to clean out those areas before this cover will fit into your frame.  If you have any problems I will be happy to share some ways to help make the corrections.   Please look at the pictures and my other auctions for Winchester parts.  I ship USPS Priority Mail.  I accept PayPal and other forms of payment.
