Vintage Maud Humphrey 1895 Calendar "Chocolate Creams" Black Americana. Auction find. Artist signed on lower right. Found out this piece was titled Chocolate Creams by doing an Internet Search of Maud Humphrey's work. Piece measures approx. 12" wide and 7" tall. As you can see in the 2nd picture, the left and right hand pieces have come apart (the 2 middle pieces are still connected but could easily come apart as well, at any time). Can be put in place so all 4 pieces are lined up together (as seen in first picture) and then professionally framed to keep them in place, and displayed. This item has additional wear (besides the pieces having come apart) such as roughness/creasing/peeling around edges, other creasing (and some tearing) including on faces, and there is a long crease/tear on the dress of the first young girl pictured (Jan-Feb-Mar), other peeling, some smudging and browning. Also in the 4th picture, above the calendars, you see a little piece of raised cardstock on the girl's dress - don't know if it was created like this or if there is a little something missing from that area? Don't imagine you find this calendar very often? Even with wear and some damage, this 126 year old calendar is a fantastic piece to frame and display, if you are a collector of Maud Humphrey or Black Americana.
