    From an estate relocation liquidation is a preowned Polemoscope side angle viewer hand manufactured by Van Cort Industries
    This artfully designed wood and brass Private eye vintage scope by Van Cort Instruments is also a Polemoscope side angle viewer-The "Private Eye"  is a Polemoscope,2 1/4" tall X1 1/4 diameter optical device which allows you to see with a diagonal perspective.This instrument originally dates back to the opera houses of the 1700"s where it was used to observe activities other than those on stage.An internal mirror gives a clear 90 degree angle view when looking through one side of viewer and a 45 degree angel when looking through the other end. Two solid brass end caps encase a died laminated birch wood turning.This entire piece was all beautifully handcrafted in the Van Cort Instruments Inc.work shop.
