Direct scans allow you to see every detail, and that's very important with collectibles, which is why we chose to scan our images rather than photograph them, even though it does take significantly longer. This collection has been of the utmost importance to me and has been stored in a temperature controlled room for many years in a non-smoking home with 2 Hepa air filters and in the summer 2 industrial dehumidifiers, each inside a protective bag.

It is time to dig into the heart of my pressbook collection, to start to offer the most rare and valuable collectible pressbooks, those that are very rarely seen at auction, if at all.
This is indeed one beautiful pressbook, it is huge (14" x 19"), and the front and back covers are printed on a very glossy, very
thick
paper stock. This was a specially designed pressbook style used for Irwin Allen's disaster films only (Towering inferno, which we also have for sale with the original poster, and The Swarm, going on sale soon). The pressbook has previously been folded in half. Condition is very good, no major issues. No cuts, markings, corners nice and sharp, binding completely intact. Also included is the smaller pressbook also released at the same time from 20th Century Fox, the complete final production notes (16 pages, one is missing) from the original presskit , and 2 11" x 14" glossy lobby cards including the most sought after (the cast photo)...all of these items can be seen on photo number 11. The original 27" x 41" one sheet poster is also included, see photo 12 (more info below in purple).

This auction includes an original studio one sheet poster (27" x 41) from the film
as an extra (see photos 1 and 12, you can enlarge them)! This poster is NOT a copy or reproduction but a studio original. While pressbooks are my main business, I am now including other movie collectibles that I have amassed over the years. The pressbook in all of our auctions is the main item because that is my specialty. I do not grade or describe the condition of the posters (except for maybe a brief description if necessary) as I am not an expert on movie posters, stills or lobby cards, it is up to you to study the photo as to the poster's condition. We guarantee that the photo posted here is a direct photo of the poster included (the poster image can be enlarged). Some posters have some kind of defect  whether it might be pinholes or writing on the back, blemishes, tears, creases, taped areas, an area with a rippled effect (probably from dampness, which can usually be seen on the scans, but not always) so please look very carefully as most of these have been used by theaters. On the other hand as I continue to look through these, some are in great condition and a few look like they were never used. So it is up to you to study the photo. All posters have been folded. This was the way they were originally sent to the theaters.

Our shipping charge includes the pressbook mailed
securely. It also includes a plastic collectible sealed bag which you can use to store your pressbook. If you order more than one pressbook, each will come with the protective bag. We ship all packages first class mail, which normally will generally arrive 3-9 days after shipping, depending how close you are to Minnesota. International orders are shipped first class international, please note there is no tracking number available for this service, only a customs number. To get a tracking number, it must be shipped international priority, and the packages being so large can cost around .00 and up. We used to offer this service but no one used it so we dropped it due to the cost, however we will ship this method upon request and pre-payment of extra postage.

I have been a movie fan all of my life, my grandfather worked for both Universal and RKO, and my mother was an editor at Paramount. At age 8, I was taken to my grandfather's offices and saw piles of movie pressbooks stacked up. I caught the fever. I have collected since then when, at that visit, my grandfather gave me a copy of the pressbook for The Green Slime and a promotional can of actual green slime with the MGM label on it. Over the years, when I obtained a pressbook, it would immediately go into a plastic bag and was taped shut for protection. My father owned a furniture store which my grandfather opened in 1900, which I worked at for 10 years and the first thing and most important thing he taught me was about customer relations, to treasure each and every customer, so I am an old-fashioned seller who cares about each sale and your satisfaction, a "mom and pop" type store.
