    Description

Beautiful Asian-inspired original calendar for June 1899 from the P C Darrow Typographers on Dearborn St, Chicago. Apparently an advertising promotion for the company. Oversized lithograph, 11 1/2 x 6" on thick cardstock, with stunning art of a woman smelling roses. In green and brown on an orange background. With original hole at top for mounting on wall.
Art is signed with a Japanese logotype signature and is reminiscent of early work by W W Denslow, Wizard of Oz illustrator who did an elaborate Easter card for P C Darrow. In very good condition with light wear and age toning.  A rare and desirable early advertising collectible. Also see the November calendar I'm listing from the same company.
