Another of the coins (top and second from the left of the group) shows a weak countermark of a war galley. This coin is a Judaea Ascalon, time of Vespasian, CY 180 = 76/77 AD (clear date)
Purchased from an Israeli dealer. Reportedly found in the Nablus area, modern day Samaria.
The LX and war galley were commonly used countermarks of the Tenth Roman Legion, Legio X Fretensis.
The countermarks are that of the Legio X Fretensis, the legion founded by Gaius Octavius (the young Augustus) and later stationed in Judaea, where they played a significant role in the First Jewish War.
