Description
Constantius Gallus CentenionalisConstantius Gallus (351-354 AD) was appointed by Constantius II to rule in the eastern parts of the empire during the revolts led by Magnentius and Decentius. However, his rule was so violent and corrupt that Constantius II recalled Gallus and had him executed. Not a nice guy. This AE Centenionalis of Gallus has a remarkably sharp reverse with all the details of the uniforms on the Roman soldier and Persian horseman crisp and clear. The coin is fully-centered with complete legends and mint mark. The obverse surfaces are rough, but the reverse is in remarkable condition. This is a nice coin of Gallus.
