    Description

    2 coin set - (WAR & PEACE) ANCIENT ROME (3rd CENTURY) {AUTHENTICITY GUARANTEED}
    War and Peace in Roman Mythology: Ancient 3rd Century Coins of Mars and Pax
    Mars was the god of war and one of the most powerful ancient Roman mythological deities. He represented the use of military power as a means to secure peace. Mars is usually shown wearing a helmet and carrying a spear.
    Ancient Romans recognized Pax as the goddess of peace. She was venerated extensively during the early centuries of the Roman Empire. Pax is typically depicted as holding an olive branch as the symbol of peace.
    Both coins were minted in Rome in 268-270 AD (CE) during the reign of the emperor Claudius II Gothicus and have his portrait on the obverse. One coin shows Mars walking right and carrying a spear; the second coin shows Pax walking left holding an olive branch and a scepter.
    These authentic ancient coins are about 1,750 years old. They are  protected by archival capsules and are displayed in a floating frame case to allow both sides of the coins to be seen without removal from the case. A custom made information card is included (see attached images for the actual card you’ll receive).
    The authenticity of these coins is guaranteed.  Any coin deemed a modern forgery by an experienced party or by a professional grading service may be returned anytime for a refund of the purchase price.
